EuroCOP’s positioning on the Council of Europe Report on Ethnic Profiling (see here: https://pace.coe.int/en/ files/28889/html) to the Rapporteur.
EuroCOP’s spokesperson said: “The European Confederation of Police( EuroCOP ) broadly welcomes and supports the conclusions arrived at,and as described in the CoE report on Ethnic Profiling in Europe. (Report | Doc. 15199 | 14 December 2020 refers )
EuroCOP embrace the rationale for this report at this particular point in time, as to not to recognise the potential harm in unlawful ethnic profiling in todays society, brings with it many challenges for Police Services across Europe.
Investment in education and effective communication are key elements in this subject matter in ensuring that the appropriate safe pathway is adopted and remains fit for purpose for future generations.”
