EuroCOP makes the voice of Europe’s police officers heard
EuroCOP has submitted its formal feedback to the European Commission as part of the consultation on the application and functioning of EU data protection rules for law enforcement. Effective data protection is essential — but the rules governing law enforcement must also reflect the practical realities faced by police officers carrying out their duties every day. By contributing directly to the European Commission’s consultation, EuroCOP is helping to ensure that the experience, expertise and operational needs of police officers across Europe are represented as EU policy develops. This is an important part of EuroCOP’s work: engaging with European institutions and making sure those responsible for policing on the ground have a voice in decisions that affect their work.
