EuroCOP was pleased to meet with Victim Support Europe on 24 June to explore how we can work together to strengthen recognition and support for police officers who become victims of crime.

The discussion focused on the growing need to recognise the impact of assaults, threats, online abuse, doxxing, organised crime intimidation, psychological trauma and cumulative stress experienced by police officers and their families.

Both organisations identified important opportunities for future cooperation, including advocacy, training, improved data collection, EU-funded projects and joint work to ensure that violence against police officers is recognised within the wider European agenda on victims’ rights, mental health, resilience and the rule of law.
