Jail time for ‘anti-masker’ who spat on Spanish police officer

A judge in Spain’s Murcia has sentenced a member of the public who spat in a police officer’s face to four months in jail.

The stubborn man turned violent after the police asked him to put his mask on, as this is now mandatory by law in Murcia.

Nigel Dennis Head of Office at EuroCOP said “We should all support and applaud the decision of the Spanish judiciary to deliver an appropriate prison sentence in this case.

“Police Officers are public servants, and at EuroCOP we view any attack against Police Officers like the one described in the article as totally unacceptable.”
