EuroCOP provides a contribution to the EU Commission request for feedback, comments and observations on the challenges that the Commission has identified for the revision of Europol’s mandate.
The European Commission has included in its Work Programme from 2020 a legislative proposal to “strengthen the Europol mandate in order to reinforce operational police cooperation” among Member States.
The need for such initiative lies on the need to ensure that the Agency is equipped to face the current and future challenges posed by criminality and terrorism.
The objective of this consultation is to receive feedback, comments and observations on the challenges that the Commission has identified for the revision of Europol’s mandate.
EuroCOP as the leading Police representative body across the European landscape have provided their contribution to this consultative process.
EuroCOP are committed in playing an active part in the consultation process, and being constructive,and where necessary critical friend in this process in which we have been invited to contribute.
